Viking Cooktop Repair

Cooktop Repair, Done Right the First Time

A Viking gas burner that clicks without lighting, or an induction zone that won't respond to the controls, is a mechanical or electronic problem we can usually pin down and fix in a single visit — not a reason to tear out the cooktop.

On Viking’s sealed gas burners, ignition is almost entirely mechanical — a spark igniter, a properly seated burner cap, and a gas port clear of debris. When a burner clicks endlessly without catching, the cause is nearly always one of those three, and it’s a quick, affordable fix once identified.

Induction models manage each cooking zone through its own set of onboard electronics and a dedicated temperature sensor, so a single dead zone or an unresponsive touch control points to a localized problem rather than a full electronics failure. We test each zone individually to isolate exactly which part needs replacing.

Cooktop Repair FAQ

Nine times out of ten it's a worn igniter or a burner port that's collected grease and debris — both are routine, inexpensive fixes.

Generally yes, but we'd still recommend getting it looked at soon, since an isolated zone failure can sometimes be an early sign of a broader control-board issue.
