What Fill too Fast Error Means
Four flashes then five means the pressure sensor reached the fill level faster than the control expects - an abnormal rate of change during filling. Viking's FDB451 dishwasher service manual (2012, page 13) lists leveling first, then house water pressure against specification, then the inlet valve, the sensor and the main control.
Common Causes of Fill too Fast Error
- Machine out of level, so the sump reaches depth sooner than expected
- House water pressure above specification
- Inlet valve passing more water than it should
- Pressure sensor misreading the rate of change
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check that the machine is level in both directions, then think about whether anything has changed on the house supply - a pressure-reducing valve adjusted, a filter removed, or a new main fitted. Viking puts household pressure second on this list for a reason.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- An inlet valve that overfills is one step away from an inlet valve that will not shut, and that step is the one that puts water in the base pan.
- Measuring house water pressure needs a gauge on a supply connection rather than an impression from the taps.
- The inlet valve sits in a pressurised line, so any work on it starts with the supply isolated, not with the fitting.
