What High Level Error Means
Two flashes then four means the pressure sensor is reporting a water level above the high threshold. Viking's FDB451 dishwasher service manual (2012, page 13) again names unsecured items in the rack first, then the sensor, then the main control.
Common Causes of High Level Error
- Items in the rack releasing held water into the sump
- Inlet valve passing water when it should be shut
- Pressure sensor reading high
- Main control problem
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check whether anything in the load has tipped and released a held volume back into the sump at the wrong moment. Beyond that, stop running cycles - too much water in the tub is the condition that puts water near the base pan.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Running another cycle with a confirmed overfill sends water towards connections that sit in the base pan.
- An inlet valve that weeps and a sensor that over-reads look identical from outside, and separating them means watching the level with the supply isolated.
- A dishwasher that overfills quietly for weeks shows its first visible sign at the kickplate, by which time the cabinet sides have been absorbing it for a while.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
