Viking VGRT362

The VGRT362 is an earlier-generation Viking sealed-burner rangetop, sold before the current 5 Series VGRT536x lineup took over the 36″ sealed-burner category. Its VSH Pro burner system is mechanically similar to what current Viking rangetops use, so most igniter and burner-cap repairs follow familiar territory even though the model itself has long been discontinued.

Viking VGRT5366BSS

Built for installation above a separate wall oven, the VGRT5366BSS is a professional-style gas rangetop whose automatic re-ignition feature relights a burner that gets blown or splashed out mid-cook. Most of the service calls we get on it come down to igniter wear or burner debris rather than an actual electronics failure.

Viking VGRT7366BSS

As Viking’s current flagship rangetop, the VGRT7366BSS uses brass-ported Elevation burners in three sizes for finer flame control than the 5 Series offers. Igniter wear and simmer-related hiccups are the kind of thing any heavily used gas rangetop develops over time — not a particular weakness of this model.

Viking VICU53616BST

The VICU53616BST is one of Viking’s most frequently installed 36″ induction cooktops, running MagneQuick elements across several zones that each operate on their own control loop. Airflow underneath the unit matters on any induction platform — when a cabinet is packed too tightly for ventilation, that’s usually what’s behind an electronics-overheat shutdown.
