- Wiring between the main control and the dry heater disconnected
- Dry heater element has failed
- Main control misreading the element's current draw
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
There is nothing to reach. The useful observation is whether this is a change or has always been so, since on the models that never had a separate drying heater the complaint of damp dishes is not an error at all.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Viking's own annotation warns that the row does not apply across the family, so the model number has to be confirmed before any part is ordered against it.
- The drying heater, the blower and the vent all sit in the same drying circuit, and a technician measures each rather than assuming from the sign.
- The element runs at line voltage inside a wet appliance, which puts it outside anything worth attempting from the front.
